Post Christmas Madness

Ahhh..Rest.

While the Christmas Stress isn't completely gone (as per usual I didn't get all my knitting done) I'm still alive. And I've made some progress on my projects. I hope everyone's holiday was awesome! Mum went a tad overboard this year but she just loves to collect things over the pre-Christmas months and gather them for a very full stocking. So much stuff... to sum it up I am ready to be a pro yoga enthusiast with all of my newly acquired yoga loot. Now, Lord, grant me the motivation?...

As of recent I've been working on several projects as well as compiling all of my poetry and weeding through what I would consider publishing and what should stay in the "pile." As I am a messy writer (as most writers are) I have so many poems on random sheets of paper, some just mere scribbles that must be deciphered, and in random notebooks so it's going to take some time and work but I think I'll manage.

Anyway! Progress photos!!! Here we go:

To start, we have Remie's (basically the cutest little girl ever...) mini fingerless gloves...I'm going to adorn the backs of them with little pink and purple Flowers and stitch "R" into the palm of one hand.

Next are some awesome Granny Smith Apple colored socks for a certain special sock friend of mine... Hehe... keeping these is so tempting but seeing them on her will be even better.

Hooray! Elijah now has a body. :-) All the better to squish-hug him with..

And finally, a superbly soft baby cabled hat (for a certain teeny tot) made from the one and only Malabrigo. I snatched a stash of this awesome color off of ebay over the summer because it was $30 for five skeins, which, to anyone who's ever bought anything Malabrigo, is pretty dern cheap.

Sigh* Definitely not all of my projects but just a taste. In the meantime, it's ticking off movies with the favorite little brother on my night off while (surprise!) knitting as much as I can.

Late, but happy Christmas to all!!!

Wow! It has definitely been over two weeks since my last post. (Way to keep the ball rolling, Gabs.)

Well, I'm feeling the Christmas stress for sure. Gifts, knitting, gifts, more knitting. I'm going insane. Although I have no updated photos to post yet, my projects are coming along great! Elijah's head and body are officially finished, now I just need to give him limbs. Baby hat for a certain special cutie is finished, soft, and gorgeous!

Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll be able to post a more thorough and fruitful blog because we all know without photos, my blah blah blah is just BOOOORINGGG...

:-)

Hope everyone's Christmas is hot and happening!

Cheers!

'Tis The Season

Ahh... A Saturday of Me, Myself, and I.

Well, for the most part at least.

This week my brain has been on overload of all the last minute Christmas things I want to knit for people. Whether or not I am going to get all of them finished BY Christmas is another story.

I love this time of year. No matter how awful life can be there is always something almost magical about Christmas. The lights, the baking, the secrecy of gifts, the gathering together of family and friends. And best of all, hot cocoa and fresh wound yarn gliding through my fingers. Love, love, love.

Anyway... here are just a few Christmas gifts I've got on the needle that I figured I'd share:

I found this yarn in my unbelievably massive stash and thought of a friend who would love some neat warmers with these fun colors...

Then off to the land of Ravelry where I dug through some clever designs and landed on this lovely little doohigger pattern called Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Wristers inspired by the goofy webisodes of Dr Horrible (which I have yet to actually watch in full...but I'm intrigued, no doubt...). Anywho! A few short hours (and margaritas) later, it started to look a little like this:

...To follow we have some socks patterned by the FABULOUS Cookie A. Kai Mei is the name of the pattern and Maiden Yarn Fibers sock yarn is to die for:

And last (but never least) is the absolutely adorable Elijah. Love knitting this one and I believe that every kid should have a stuffed elephant.

Until next time...

MCR, Sufjan, and Potter... Oh my!

Ahh... Monday blues averted.

Nothing quite as fabulous as an overly anticipated film AND rock album event all on the same day.

What? She's a Potter nerd, you say? Yes. And completely loving it. After x ammount of years watching to films with my family, I finally decided at the end of '09 to venture into the Potter reading epidemic that my brother insisted I should delve into for a further understanding of the different aspects of potter land. The books, as well as the films, are amazingly creative and the newest addition of The Deathly Hallows Part 1 is a feast for the eyes. So, if you are up to date on the past six films, GO SEE IT IN THEATERS!

Now, on the rock note, My Chemical Romance just released their fourth album this past Monday "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys." Fabulous, if you've enjoyed their past efforts, then don't be afraid to dish out ten bucks on Amazon. You will NOT be disappointed.

As for the incredibly creative (and odd) musician Sufjan Stephens, who is well known in the Indie and "scene" crowds, I'm slowly falling in love. More on that later...For now, love, peace, and Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. :o)

New MCR, books, and outlook...

Blogging.

It's the infinite unknown to me. Often times I'm poisoned with the idea that if I blogged something, no one would read it. My thoughts rarely bring me to the conclusion that they need to be heard.

But alas, I have been blessed with many supportive 'critics' (a.k.a. family and friends) who think otherwise.

Today is a new day, a new week, a new moment to assess. Today is coffee, friends, knitting and new music. Today can be great if I let it.

So. In conclusion to my rantings on NOT having anything to write about, I will say this: while I could go on for days, months, years even without any readers, that will be alright with me because even though I would love to grace a few lives with my endless thoughts on love, life, and food, this blog is primarily for me. A place to vent and unwind.

Cheers.
